Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited NLN Nursing Program
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- One-year prior experience as a Registered Nurse
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
- Outpatient/Ambulatory Hemophilia experience
- BSN
- Intravenous Therapy/Venipuncture certification strongly preferred with one year experience
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
- Full Time Days
- No Weekends, no Holidays
- 8:30am 4:30pm
- Administers individualized age specific professional care to meet the specialized needs of the bleeding and thrombotic patient population,
- Participate in a multidisciplinary treatment program serving children and adults at the Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center.
- Assessment and education to patient s/families on coagulation disorders, treatment and complications.
- Coordinate care during inpatient hospitalizations, same day surgery and emergency department visits.
- Coordinates care with specialists within medical center and community.
- Coordination of home care and self-infusion program
- Facilitates continuity of care with school through correspondence and communication,
- Participates in school visit program with psychosocial staff.
- Maintains detailed record system for each patient, including lab values, treatment, correspondence, assessments, etc to fulfill documentation standards.
- Maintains relationship with home care and insurance companies.
- Participates in clinical studies.
- Participates in multidisciplinary clinics.
- Participates in patient care conference and collaborates with members of the team to develop comprehensive multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Provides direct patient care, obtains history and physical assessments to facilitate prompt patient treatment.
