Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Pre Admission Testing RN utilizes his/her clinical skills and is responsible for the retrieval of pre-operative tests for all surgical patients. He/she will identify potential issues that would possibly result in the delay and/or cancellation of patients' surgeries and review cases with the anesthesia. He/she delegates tasks to the PAT secretaries, while facilitating and ensuring good communication between all caregivers and outside resources. He/she must possess thorough knowledge of their area and stay abreast of changes. He/she must have excellent communication skills with all levels of associates, with physicians and the staff in their offices, members of the anesthesia department, vendors, external agencies and other ancillary departments. He/she also must have excellent assessment skills, good time management abilities, be a critical thinker and collaborate with the clinical PCC/clinical manager/director to facilitate the operational changes to meet needs of our customers. The PAT RN must ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with the mission statement and SPIRIT values of Carroll Hospital Center. The RN in pre-admission testing reports directly to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services or the Director of Surgical Services in his/her absence.

Requirements

  • Required Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • Less than 2 years Completion of coursework of accredited nursing school. Required
  • CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
  • RN - Registered Nurse
