Purpose
The core mission of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses – New York City Chapter #3304 is to unite registered professional nurses for the purpose of maintaining an association dedicated to promoting the highest professional standards of perioperative nursing for the optimal care of patients undergoing surgical and other invasive procedures. One way to accomplish this mission is to provide opportunities for continuous professional development through educational activities.
The participants will be able to apply knowledge learned in the educational sessions to strengthen and improve perioperative practice, increase professional engagement and foster personal and professional growth.

RN 4.5 CE credits
This activity has been approved by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, Inc. for 4.5 contact hours. The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, Inc. is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Activities that are approved by AORN are recognized as continuing education for registered nurses. This recognition does not imply that AORN or the ANCC Commission on Accreditation approves or endorses any product in the presentation.

Phyllis Quinlan PhD, RN-BC
Phyllis Quinlan PhD, RN-BC has 38 years of nursing experience and held variety of leadership positions ranging from Educator, Director of Education and Director of Nursing Services. She is an ANCC Certified in Profession Nurse Development since 1995. She has a PhD in Healthcare Administration, a certified trainer in Emotional Intelligence, and certified as a Transformational Coach. She has authored 2 books: The Delicate Balance and Rediscover the Joy of Being a Nurse. She has been the career coach for AORN since 2013 and a Faculty for the AORN Nursing Executive Leadership Series Fall 2016 on Bullying and Incivility in Nursing
